About Me / Contact Info

I am a specialized community association (HOA, COA, and Co-ops) attorney working at Burg Law Firm, P.A. in Panama City, Florida. I grew up in Panama City and received a Juris Doctorate and MBA from Florida State University. I also attended Florida State University for my undergraduate degree. While in law school I worked in the Florida House of Representatives for Speakers Bense and Rubio.  After law school I worked  at a prestigious large law firm in Tampa, Florida. I currently work at a full service firm located in beautiful downtown Panama City.

During the course of my legal career I have handled matters for over 200 community associations from all across the state of Florida on issues including debt collection, covenant enforcement, by-law revisions, and even several emergency situations.

While people often complain about community association living for the right people it's a great life style. Association living allows people the opportunity to access from their homes amenities, locations, and surroundings that they might not otherwise be able to. There are many misconceptions about association living that in recent years have done a disservice to an otherwise sound set of laws governing the entities. It's my hope that via this blog and its contributors that I can help those interested people to find ways to better enjoy their property and lifestyle.

The ultimate purpose of this blog is to create a community and dialogue amongst association board member, owners, and anybody else interested about association issues.  I believe strongly in economies of information. I strongly encourage people to engage in meaningful participation. No question or response is dumb or too simple.  Disrespectful comments will not be tolerated.
